My Story

Having worked as a GP for over 30 years, half of those being  locally in Sandown, I am acutely aware of the importance of mental health care, especially for young people, for many reasons. These include supportive counselling through situational crisis and stress related illness,  the essential management of  adolescent  anxiety and depression,  specialised psychological  therapies in the management of  OCD, eating disorders, and many more areas of care.

In primary care we are heavily reliant on the excellent specialist support offered by The Youth Trust in provifing these services. However, we are also  aware of the increasing need, in the provision of Mental Healthcare at a time when NHS resources are lacking. It is  of paramount importance that we nurture the wellbeing of the our youth in order to prevent  further problems as they progress into adulthood.

This charitable trust helps greatly and dedicates its time to the provision of these services
