- About
Born from a live radio interview on BBC Radio Solent with the Youth Trust's Fundraising and Communications Manager, Michelle, who, when asked if she would be running the London Marathon said "No, you're much more liekly to see me abseil the Spinnaker Tower..." so here we are...
Michelle and a group of colleagues, members of our Taskforce and supporters of the Trust will be abseiling the Spinnaker Tower on Saturday 27th May to help raise vital funds for the Youth Trust.
Since the beginning of 2023, the numbers of children and young people reaching out to us for support has increased to record levels (from an average 17 per week in 2022 to 34 per week in the first two months of 2023). These children and young people are coming to us for a variety of reasons including anxiety, low mood and depression, self-harm, bereavement support, sexual and gender identity questioning, anger, disordered eating and suicidal ideation.
No one describes the impact of the Youth Trust better than the children and young people who have accessed our services, below are just a few of their comments:
“I’m feeling like a weight has been lifted after working through deeply rooted issues and feeling better and more positive for the future
“I used to not be able to go a day without over thinking or having intrusive thoughts. I now have none thanks to the Youth Trust.”
“I feel more confident and comfortable being me and it’s helped me cope with rough things at school”
“Made me less anxious and made me more aware of what I have to do to help myself.”
